Anti-violence events with the Knife Angel

The Knife Angel, a towering 27-foot sculpture crafted from over 100,000 seized blades, will be officially unveiled on Saturday 3 August, 12pm in St George’s Square, Luton. It presents a striking visual reminder of the devastating impact of violent behaviour but also as a poignant memorial honouring the lives tragically lost to senseless acts of aggression.

Throughout August, the town will host numerous events linked to the Knife Angel’s visit, ensuring the voices of knife crime victims and their families are heard. Activities include:

·         the Artful Voice public exhibition 23-25 July, Hat Factory Arts Centre featuring creative works from Luton’s students

·         focused youth activities in St George’s Square and across the town

·         Operation Sceptre, where Bedfordshire Police will encourage people to leave unwanted knives in amnesty bins, engage with retailers, and carry out weapon sweeps
